Global Freedom Movement Virtual Protest

We are ready to promote Global Freedom Movement's first virtual protest:

Date & time: 08 March 2010 0.00 to 23.55 (All Day)

Event: INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY VIRTUAL PROTEST - GENEVA

About: Virtual protest to draw attention to real issues for women globally, highlight the need for equality of rights and opportunities, and end violence against women.

Venue: This event can be viewed on 8 March 2010 by visiting http://hyperactivist.info/geneva/

Info: The Global Freedom Movement is about empowerment of people – not organisations or governments.

I need help contacting organisations and individuals to tell them about the event and encouraging them to share the information with their members via newsletter, email, their website, blog or FaceBook page and on Twitter.

We need tweets in several languages telling people about the blog, FaceBook page, and event.

If I could wish for anything else I would have a video promoting the event and the whole idea of virtual protests, how they are environmentally friendly, completely in tune with the social networking dynamic and at the same time a remedy against the brutality, arrests and killings facing street protesters.

About the Global Freedom Movement (GFM)
  • Basic idea - activism on a global scale but coordinated via electronic social networks so mainly using email, internet and SMS
  • Peaceful activism to draw attention to civil and human rights issues worldwide
  • Brings grass roots movements together united for common goals
  • GFM relationships will empower people by allowing rapid transfer of skills, knowledge and information
  • Self funding (as of now almost zero-cost!) and independent
  • Environmentally and ecologically aware, politically and religiously neutral
  • All events are VIRTUAL ie happen in cyberspace. First event is 8 March.
  • More details of activities will be released in the next couple of weeks.
What is a Virtual Protest?
A virtual protest is one where GFM places markers on a map of the chosen location to indicate the presence of internet/mobile users around the world at the event.

What about Iran?
For Iran the special focus for many individuals and groups on 8 March will be on women prisoners. I am also hearing about activities tied in to current issues such as temporary marriage, and the new 'family law'.

First of all I want to say thanks to all the freedom fighters who where not manipulated by the corruption of the state government. My concern is to see all black and white people leaving in peace and harmony with equal rights. Therefore all people have a role to play in the world no matter who you are. Let us expose the corruption of the government to free ourselves from the economical slavery. Look inside of you and see true meaning of life. You have the choice in front of you make the best of it.

Does AWR Inspire You?

eve.jpg AWR launched two years ago. To keep it subscription-free, I need to migrate the site to a new platform that will more easily allow advertising. I don't have the funds to do it alone, so I'm inviting visitors and fans to invest in the future of AWR with me. If AWR inspires you, please make a donation to take it to the next level. Even $5 - $10 will help. Thanks for your support, Susan
